Acne Control Treatments

  • What is Acne?

Acne takes the form of pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and clogged pores. Acne is an inflammatory skin disease that affects the pores on the face, chest, back, arms, and legs and the oil glands attached.

  • What Causes Acne?

Many factors cause acne, two of them being hair follicles (pores) and oil glands. Dead skin cells block the pore, and oil from the glands is then blocked from reaching the top of the skin, thus starting to solidify in the pore. Acne untreated can create bacteria and infection, which causes redness and scarring.

  • How Lasers Treat Acne

Laser treatments work by delivering a laser light that kills the bacteria responsible for acne. Laser therapy clears 70%-90% of moderate, inflammatory acne in four to six weeks. A series is recommended twice a week for 3-6 weeks.

  • Comparing Acne Control Treatments

Laser treatment such as *Fraxel results are especially impressive compared to conventional treatments, such as topical creams and oral antibiotics. Laser treatments usually help control acne breakouts for four to eight months; occasional touch-ups may be necessary.

*Fraxel laser therapy can help heal acne scars removal, both old and new.
